I set off from Aberdaron at about 3 a.m. to catch the tide to Fishguard and after an hour motoring again I hit a fog bank which took me nearly 2 hours to motor through. To start with you think every shape is a ferry coming straight for you but since I hadn't seen a ship for 2 days I guess this was fear so I sat on deck cuddling my life raft whilst the autopilot did its job.
I arrived in Fishguard and the sun come out, hooray!!!!, I anchored outside the old drying harbour near the ferry terminal and went to bed. Today I was going to set off for Milford Haven but the weather forecast is for no wind, I felt fed up so I decide to ha
ve a lie in and chill out in Fishguard. I pumped up the dingy and put myself ashore at the delightful old harbour at Lower Fishguard then I went over to Goodwick on the other side of the bay to Tesco to buy Chocolate Hobnods, remarkebly my humour improved and I started smiling again.
Pete if your reading this the light blue boat in the picture is our old fried "An Cala" from holyhead.
Tomorrow I'm going around St. David's head passed the cottage that the Haworth family used to spend their summer holidays and then onto Dale which is just before Milford Haven. I hope there is enough wind. Finally thank you for the comments it means alot I can tell you. When you write an anonymous comment stick your name at the end of the post so I know who is being nice and who is being horrid!!!! Bye for now.

Hi Dave,
Great to hear that you have set off. I hope you get some wind now. Look out for big boats near MIlford Haven!
Best wishes,
Rick Na Clare
David,
I hear it wasn't plain sailing to Fishguard. Lack of wind and fog were thrown at you... but you prevailed. Well done. Just gales, ships and tidal waves to come, then. I'm sure you'll cope just fine, as long you can reach for a chocolate Hobnob.
Where are you now; probably washing down a fish supper at Rick Stein's with a nice Chardonnay, I bet.
Love for us all, Nick and the Girls.

Hi David,
Just checked on your progress, good to see you’ve eventually set sail.
When you arrive in Padstow make sure you treat yourself to one of the ‘unusual’ pasties from one the several bakeries on the side streets off the harbor.
We’ll be in the Padstow area late August, but you’ll be long gone, but I will toast you a pint from the pub on harbor.
Keep your chin up during those ‘no wind’ days.
Regards
Dave (of Alison ‘n’ Dave Fame)
